VRLA Batteries in Jordan
Sealed VRLA batteries sit inside almost every UPS, fire alarm panel, access control system and small DC supply in Jordan. We supply AGM and gel blocks from 5 Ah upwards, matched to your UPS model, and replace full strings with the load kept protected.
Absorbent glass mat
The acid is held in glass-fibre mats. AGM gives high current for short periods, which suits a UPS that needs 5 to 30 minutes of runtime. Most 12 V UPS blocks are AGM.
Gelled electrolyte
The acid is set into a gel. Gel handles deeper and more frequent discharges and runs cooler, so it suits solar storage, telecom and sites with regular outages. OPzV cells are the long-life 2 V version.
Heat is what kills VRLA batteries
Manufacturers quote VRLA design life at a room temperature of 20 to 25 °C. Above that, life drops by roughly half for every 10 °C. A 5-year block in a 35 °C cabinet may last two to three years, and the UPS gives little warning before it fails on load.
Keep the battery room air-conditioned, and test the blocks every year. If cooling cannot be guaranteed, look at long-life or lithium batteries instead.

Questions we get asked
How do I know my UPS batteries are failing?
The runtime drops, the UPS reports a battery fault or fails its self-test, or the blocks look swollen. An impedance test finds weak blocks before that stage.
What does 12V 9Ah mean?
Each block gives 12 volts and stores 9 ampere-hours at its 20-hour discharge rate. A UPS discharges in minutes, where the usable capacity is much lower, so we size by watts per block and not by Ah alone.
Can I replace AGM with gel?
Sometimes. The charger voltage has to suit gel, and gel gives less power over a short discharge. For a standard UPS we normally replace like with like.
